Arborg, Bifrost jump on the bus ARBORG — The Arborg Bifrost Community Development Corporation (ABCDC) is stepping up its efforts to attract new residential and commercial development to the area.

First and foremost in its marketing plan is a brand new website that is set to launch on Sept. 13. The website, "growingarborg.com", will come on-board parallel to an aggressive ad campaign to be run in Winnipeg.

Pat McCallum, economic development officer for ABCDC, said the ad campaign will run for six weeks and feature 16 bus boards on Winnipeg transit buses. She said the campaign will be a run-up to a face-to-face meeting in early October with the Winnipeg business community. "Winnipeg businesses will be invited to a reception to highlight the benefits of Arborg," she said.
Arborg, Bifrost successes take centre stage ARBORG — The future is bright for Arborg. That was the mantra that filled the Arborg Community Hall Wednesday night as the Arborg Bifrost Community Development Corporation (ABCDC) and the Arborg Chamber of Commerce hosted a first annual "The Inside Scoop", an informal gathering of business, community groups and local government.

The focus of the evening was to let people know what's happening now in Arborg and Bifrost and what's on the horizon for this growing Interlake community.
Arborg –A Growing Connection to the World! The Town of Arborg has grown by 39% in four years!   Arborg/Bifrost, with a population of more than 5,000, has a trading area of 25,000 and, when summer residents are included, that number swells to 40,000.

Arborg is only 100 km. north of Winnipeg and on a direct route (via Highway 7) to CentrePort Winnipeg. Canada’s first Foreign Trade Zone, CentrePort is being developed as a major air, sea and road transportation hub to connect to the Mid-Continent Trade Corridor providing access to a central North American market of 100 million people and to the rest of the world via the Polar Air and Marine Route initiatives.

Arborg/Bifrost goods can be shipped quickly and cost-effectively anywhere in the world.........We really are “OPEN FOR BUSINESS”!
Home Hardware – a Story of Growth Since 2008 sales at Arborg’s Home Building Centre (formerly Countryside Lumber) have increased by 67% and market studies indicate that there is potential to grow a further 75% in the next three years.  Because of these results and what is seen as the area’s excellent potential, Countryside is becoming “Home Hardware Building Centre” and is expanding to 10,000 square feet from the existing 1,500 square foot facility.

The Arborg-Bifrost Community Development Corporation is working with Home Hardware to help make this major expansion a reality.
